More good news has been announced in Virginia as lawmakers recently passed new legislation that will allow the sale of smokable marijuana flower.
Virginia Governor, Ralph Northam, has been a supporter of marijuana use and is expected to sign the bill. Sales are anticipated to take place at dispensaries later this year as the legislation stated that the Virginia Board of Pharmacy begins to implement regulation and testing for cannabis flower by September 1.
Currently, there are four dispensaries operating across the state of Virginia and currently sell medical marijuana products such as capsules, sprays, tinctures, oils, topicals, lozenges, and more. Allowing access to cannabis flower will provide more variety for medical marijuana patients. This is also expected to help drastically boost sales as cannabis flower often accounts for about 50% of market sales.
