Celebrate Cannabis in Virginia Beach! Cannafest 2022 Coming Soon!

Cannafest Returning to Virginia in Early 2022

Who’s ready to celebrate cannabis in Virginia? After the success of CannaFest I in September of this year, plans are already underway for CannaFest II, which is expected to arrive in the early part of 2022. Virginians with medical marijuana cards should get ready for another fun trade show that includes giveaways, entertainment and more.

The First Cannabis-Themed Trade Show in the Commonwealth

It only took a few months after the passage of legalization legislation in July for organizers to get this event off the ground. Despite the short timeline, organizers including Virginia Cannabis Connections out of Portsmouth, were able to put together an impressive day that included a custom car and bike show with a $500 “best in show” prize. All ages were admitted to the festival, but underage visitors were prohibited from taking part in cannabis product giveaways.

The event was headlined by legendary R&B group and Virginia Beach stalwarts, Blackstreet, who were touring in support of the 25th anniversary of their album, Another Level. CannaFest VA took place at the Virginia Beach Convention Center and was organized with support from the local city government, indicating just how much social acceptance cannabis is now getting in the Commonwealth.

Cannabis Festivals Rally the Community

As legalization has spread throughout the United States, events like Virginia’s CannaFest have played a key role in increasing awareness and eliminating social stigmas around medical marijuana and cannabis in general.

Nearby Pennsylvania started their own cannabis festival in 2015 specifically to increase awareness and pave the way to legalization. In the years since, Pennsylvania has legalized medical use of marijuana, which can be attributed in part to events like these festivals. With statistics indicating that more and more Americans, including senior citizens, accept cannabis as a viable medical solution, the scope and frequency of events like CannaFest will only increase, giving medical marijuana users fun and exciting ways to learn more about cannabis and build connections in the cannabis community.

CannaFest II – Coming Soon

Missed CannaFest this year? Don't worry, a second festival is already on its way. Given the success of CannaFest I, plans are currently underway for a second cannabis trade fair in Virginia early next year.

The specifics on next year’s event are still pending, but announcements are expected soon. Virginians who missed CannaFest I or want to experience the fun all over again should keep an eye on this space for updates. Wherever it takes place and whatever the details involved are, CannaFest II is guaranteed to be a fun and informative time for those who want to explore the myriad benefits of medical marijuana.
