The Benefits of Vaping Marijuana

If you currently benefit from Virginia’s medical marijuana program, you might be looking for new ways to enjoy your medicine as you get used to the same-old thing.

There are countless ways to enjoy your medicine, and one that a lot of people enjoy is vaping! That’s right–vaping isn’t just for teenagers who enjoy nicotine products or for those trying to quit smoking cigarettes. Vaping can be an effective way to ingest your marijuana too.

Vaping vs Smoking

Although the two ingestion methods may seem similar, there are many huge differences between vaping and smoking.

Vaping is generally thought to be safer than smoking because it does not produce many of the harmful byproducts smoking does, such as tar and other carcinogens.

Although some say that vaping produces stronger effects than smoking flower, you can control the size of the hit you take with a vape. While vaping you can take tiny puffs, whereas it’s much more difficult to gauge how big of a hit you are taking when smoking from a bong or a bowl.

Vaping also does not produce the harsh smell associated with marijuana. There is a smell, but it is minimal and disappears in minutes. It is a bit more discreet than smoking flower.

Cartridges used for vaping marijuana are offered in a variety of flavors, which can make the product taste better and less harsh than smoking the actual flower.

Smoking flower is also said to be very wasteful compared to vaping, as most people don’t realize how much weed they are burning off or losing when they smoke it.

All in all, vapes are much easier to conceal and are more convenient. With vaping, you don’t need to find room for a lighter, grinder, container for your weed, a vessel to smoke out of, etc.

The Bottom Line

There are so many benefits to vaping your medicine, however, every ingestion method has its pros and cons. If vaping is not for you, there are many other methods that may work for you, including edibles and tinctures!

In order to figure out what works best for you, visit one of the many medical marijuana dispensaries throughout the state and talk to your local budtender.

Medical marijuana dispensary employees are educated in all things marijuana, including which types, strains, and doses may work best for your condition and symptoms.

In order to visit one of these dispensaries, you will first need your medical marijuana card.
