Study Shows Which Cannabis Products Women Prefer and Why

As medical marijuana programs develop across the country, we have begun to access data indicating the preferred products by different groups of patients. Recently, a cannabis analytics company conducted a study that revealed which cannabis products women prefer based on recent purchasing data. The research found women prefer non-combustible methods of cannabis consumption, such as vape pens, edibles, tinctures, and topicals, while men purchase flower or concentrates in greater numbers.

The study found that between 2017-2018, women purchased 19 percent more vapes, 47 percent more topicals, and 42 percent more tinctures than in recent years. According to this study, cannabis tinctures were one of the most popular products purchased by women. A possible explanation is the convenience factor. Women stated that they like tinctures as t they can discreetly hide their medication without others knowing or smelling it on them. Tinctures vary in size and cannabinoid profiles, with a wide range of THC: CBD ratios. Tinctures can be used orally by placing drops underneath a patient's tongue and provide relief shortly after consumption. Other patients prefer to mix the drops from their tincture in with a drink, such as coffee or tea.

As the medical cannabis industry continues to flourish with more cultivators and processors continuing to release new vape pens and now single cartridges, dispensaries have noticed an uptick in sales. Patients can expect strain specific options for their vape cartridges and pens to treat their individual medical needs. Vape pens can be used conveniently for treating chronic pain, and many other conditions, as they provide immediate relief through the inhalation of heated cannabis oil.

Girls, which product will you be purchasing during your next visit to the dispensary?
