Whether you need assistance in obtaining medical records, or simply have questions that you want answered before scheduling an appointment, our knowledgeable and compassionate staff will be able to help to ensure that the only thing you have to worry about is your first visit to a licensed Virginia dispensary!
How To Get A Medical Marijuana Card in Arlington
The process to obtain a medical marijuana card in Virginia is rather straightforward; however, it is important to note that Virginia's program does not have an official "medical marijuana card," rather patients that are approved for medical marijuana treatment will receive an "affirmative defense" or a "Patient Registration Certificate." An affirmative defense provides patients with a legal confirmation of approval for medical marijuana treatment in Virginia in the case of a law enforcement encounter, and the Patient Registration Certificate will allow patients access to licensed pharmaceutical processors.
While not all physicians in Virginia have been certified for medical marijuana treatment, all physicians at Virginia Marijuana Card have their certifications and stay regularly updated on medical cannabis research and developments, including cannabis education outside of the State's requirements.
The first step in getting approved for medical marijuana treatment would be to contact our team at (888) 633-5808 and schedule an appointment at our Arlington office location. For the appointment, you will bring in medical records from your current or previous doctors and a VA driver's license or VA State I.D. From there, you will have a brief evaluation with the physician, including a discussion of the ideal products will provide the highest level of relief for your symptoms and a suggested treatment plan that can be brought with you to the pharmaceutical processors when purchasing your medical cannabis.
With approval from a Virginia Marijuana Card doctor, you will need to register with the Virginia Department of Health Professions in order to receive your Patient Registration Certificate. You will need to submit the following information:
Completed Certification for the use of CBD or THC-A oil (written certification you receive from the Virginia Marijuana Card physician)
Proof of Patient's Residency, Age & Identity (VA driver's license or State I.D.)
There is a $50 nonrefundable application fee that must be submitted with the application which is separate from our services and will go directly to the State. Once the application has been processed within 7-10 days, including the doctor's written certification, the Virginia Department of Health Professions will send the Patient Registration Certificate via mail.
If you need to contact the Virginia Board of Pharmacy you can email them at email@example.com.
